Isn’t it wonderful to see the sun at last, after all that rain? The hedgerows are greening up, the blossom is out, the bees are buzzing around and the occasional butterfly is basking on the primrose petals: I’ve had brimstones, tortoiseshells and peacocks in my garden so far (and, in less welcome insect news, I’ve squished my first lily beetle of the year!)…
BUT, in all this excitement, don’t forget! If you haven’t paid your SLGS sub yet, now’s the time to do so! The end of this month is the cut-off point, beyond which you will, sadly, no longer be a member if you haven’t paid up! No longer on the mailing list for email and surface mail updates, no more free admission to meetings and events at Folkingham and elsewhere: so please make a special point of coming along to the next meeting, on Thursday 27 March, to hear Rob Cole (who will, I’m sure, be a most interesting and entertaining speaker) – and also pay your sub!
If you can’t do that, you’ll have to contact the Membership Secretary. Please note that we’ve recently had a change of personnel here: Jackie Searl has resigned and Carole Smith has kindly stepped into the breach. Her address and all other necessary contact details are on our Contact us page.
*** A year’s membership of SLGS is still great value at only £10 per single membership or £15 joint (2 people at the same address). And to whet your appetite for the rest of our year’s programme, details of the June coach trip to Warwickshire and Worcestershire are on the new Newsletter, now available to download as a pdf from the Newsletters page. There is also a revised and fully updated version of our Programme for 2014 available to download there. ***
