A rather last-minute reminder (sorry, I’ve been away) that several SLGS members (and ex-members) have their gardens open this coming weekend in Haconby (or is it Hacconby – it depends who you ask!) just north of Bourne. Admission £4 to all gardens – entrance to Church free. Craft Stalls and Photography Competition. That’s Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September 11am to 4pm. No dogs allowed in gardens. Refreshments in Church – Plants and bulbs for sale. Proceeds to St. Andrew’s Church. Postcode (for one garden) PE10 0UL
The open gardens are those of Cliff & Joan Curtis at 21 Chapel Street; Mary Atkinson at Haconby Hall, and Ivan and Sadie Hall at Walter’s Cottage, 6 Hall Road.
For more information about the Curtises’ garden, see our Members’ gardens page.
Here’s the description of Walter’s Cottage from our old listing:
Country cottage garden of over ¼ acre developed over the past 10 years. Various themed areas. Walled garden with hornbeam allée, topiary and rill. Woodland area with wildlife pond and plants. Sunken garden. Long herbaceous borders, lawns and collection of hostas. The garden is well-stocked with many interesting and rare plants with added features. Snowdrops, hellebores and spring bulbs.
Sorry again for the late reminder.
